News Article: Wall Workers Suffer Through The Job

Wall Workers Suffer Through the Job

BEJING-  After 11 years. The Great wall is almost complete. “Its about time!” a villager who does not want to reveal his name says, “these poor Wall workers have been at this and suffering for years. They all cant wait to be let free once again and not tortured and beaten every single day!” Chinese subjects have many different views on the workers of the great wall and statements are getting mixed messages on how Qin and the rest of the Empire are treating the workers.

“It was September 18, 252 BC when the building of the Great Wall first started and since then each and every individual worker has been treated with respect and equality,” says the great Emperor Qin. He went on saying, “everyone has been working so hard for years trying to finish the wall as quickly and to the best of our abilities, and for that reason, we treat our workers with great kindness.” Qin made it clear that anyone who disagrees with his statements that he treats his workers right, will face consequences.

“Emperor Qin is a evil man. We were beaten and tortured every single day by him and his crew and he didn’t care one bit,” says Wang-Yi, A worker of the great wall for the first five years of the process. “I witnessed him kill two of my very close friends right in front of my own eyes. Hes a disgusting man, and somebody needs to put a stop to the building of the Great Wall so these poor workers can be free once and for all!”

Editorial: What Citizens Think of the Great Wall

Emperor Qin editiorial

Real China

Emperor Qin has taken hundreds of slave workers and prisoners against their wills to work on the great wall. This edict will allow the Great Wall to be built at a faster pace. This edict will ruin China’s citizens. Poor and innocent slaves being forced to work against their wills every day and night! Prisoners that have served their time, sent right to the Great Wall of China to get beaten and tortured daily.
These people that are being forced are innocent people and they are getting treated like they did something completely wrong. They have families too. They have wives and kids too. Yet they are still working day and night, for hours at a time. These people should have a choice on where they work and what they want to do with their lives. Not be forced to do hard labor everyday for years straight.
Wanting to get the great wall done is one thing, but forcing people that don’t want to do it, and make them work on it is not the right way to get it done. But of coarse, the rich and people that are not working on the great wall think differently about the workers. “Why are they making such a big deal about working? Its a job. Emperor Qin is providing them with a job. Why aren’t they happy about that?” Says landlord Wei-Teing. Its not a good job when they are getting forced into it and don’t get paid for it. Its not a job that helps provide for the family and that is fun for that matter.
China’s citizens shouldn’t be forced to do jobs that they don’t want to and don’t get paid for. Everyone only lives once and you have to make the most of it. Don’t let the government run your life; run it yourself.

Emperor Qin: His Big Moment

Inventions-The First Compass

The first compass ever was made during the Qin Dynasty. It was produced in 221-206 BC. The compass was made with lodestone. It was a iron-like material that they used because it aligns itself with a north and south direction thanks to the magnetic forces inside the Earths surface. This instrument was used to show which direction you were heading to just by holding it in your hand. The shape of the compass actually started off a square but was further changed to a circle as they found out that the cardinal points wouldn't line up correctly. This invention was a huge invention during the Qin dynasty because they are still used to this day and helped thousands of people get around.

Daily Life: How People Get By

Emper Qin was a whole-hearted believer in leagalism.  He didn't take no for an answer and didn't take one bit of criticism. He even burned all books with content in them that wasn't what he believed in to show that he was in control and nobody else could do anything about it. These things changed daily life a lot because the citizens of China had to be careful about where they went, and what they say at all times. People were tortured and killed everyday for not believing in the same things as Emperor Qin. If you didn't say anything about the government or Emperor Qin then its was like living a normal life, kids go to school and parents and adults work. Adults didn't really get to pick their jobs, though. Because the government got rid of land lords, that made a lot of people jobless. Which means that more people could work on projects that the government were doing as in the Great Wall project and Qin's tomb.Without these extra men and women, these big projects wouldn't of been able to get done as quickly as they did.
